Policies

Patient policies are an important part of the treatment process. Please refer to the patient handbook for questions regarding your treatment. If you have a question that you cannot find in the handbook, feel free to email us at infoelkton@serenityllc.net or infoaberdeen@serenityllc.net . We will respond to your question within 48 business hours.

Confidentiality

Federal and state laws protect patient’s records. According to this law, staff is not permitted to confirm a patient’s treatment at this facility to any other person or entity. Staff is also not permitted to confirm whether a patient has admitted to drug or alcohol use or has associated in any substance abuse program unless:

  1. The patient signs consent to release information.
  2. A request is made by a court order signed by a judge.
  3. There is a medical emergency to include suicidal ideation.
  4. For research, audit or office evaluation purposes.
  5. Staff suspects child abuse or neglect and/or elder abuse. All violations must be reported according to the “Duty to Warn” federal law
  6. Federal law and regulations do not protect information about a crime committed by a patient or any threat to commit such a crime.
